FAQs

Where are the hospitals/clinics to which you refer your clients?

  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Indiana
  • South Dakota
  • Oklahoma
  • Montana
  • Arizona
  • Nevada
  • Idaho

How do you choose the facilities?

First and foremost, they all have agreed to provide medical services to our clients at deeply discounted prices.  It isn’t difficult to find sources of quality healthcare.  They abound. It’s more difficult to find sources of low cost healthcare, but they are out there.  The real challenge is to find sources of quality healthcare and then negotiate very favorable rates for our clients.  This is what we have done.

I’ve heard of Americans going to India or Thailand for cheap surgeries.  Should I consider these options?

First of all, by the time the cost of traveling to India is added to the cost of the quote provided by the hospital, to the cost of the hotel for 2-4 weeks, the cost of the hospital and the surgeon, the savings in going to India is minimal when compared to going to U.S. hospitals which North American Surgery recommends.  And the costs in Thailand are up to twice what the prices in India are.  More important than the costs however, are the possibilities of complications during and post-surgically (see our “links” page).  In particular, the world famous Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, has published a report (see “links” page) wherein they estimate the risk of having a pulmonary embolism following surgery is 30% greater if the patient flies more than 5000 miles back to his or her home.  This complication, in an airline over the Atlantic Ocean, would inevitably be fatal.  For these reasons, we refer our clients, whenever possible, to facilities within the U.S.  Why travel half way around the world when you can stay within your own time zone!

Do you ever refer your clients outside of North America?

No.  On occasion however, we will refer U.S. clients to facilities in Canada.  There are procedures available in Canada which are not approved in the U.S.  For example, we are able to offer High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) treatment for prostate cancer, in Canada.   This procedure is fully approved and accredited by the Canadian government, and is also commonly offered throughout Europe.

How good are the surgeons which your organization uses?

We rely on the hospitals and clinics to qualify the surgeons who operate at these facilities.  They are all licensed practitioners in the states in which they practice. At the end of the day, however, our clients have to be comfortable with the surgeon assigned to their case.  North American Surgery will assign a different surgeon to any client who, after meeting the original doctor in consultation, is not comfortable with the relationship.

Does North American Surgery Inc. offer any guarantees as to the outcome of my surgery?

No surgeon or hospital, anywhere in the world, will offer any such guarantees.

Do the hospitals in your network have payment plans available?

Generally speaking, no.  One of the ways we are able to negotiate lower prices is by offering to pay our facilities up front, in full.

Why don’t you have agreements in place with hospitals in other states?

Generally speaking, there are no reasonably prices hospitals, whatsoever, in many states. States such as:

  • New York
  • New Jersey
  • Texas
  • Massachusetts
  • Virginia
  • Michigan
  • California
  • Alaska
  • Hawaii
  • Washington
  • Oregon

are impossibly expensive for surgery.  Nevertheless, we are always willing to talk with hospitals wishing to join our network.

About Us

For the last four years we have been facilitating surgical procedures for clients wishing to access the favorable pricing which we have negotiated with hospitals and clinics across the country.

Services

North American Surgery Inc. is able to access reasonably priced surgical procedures of all types in U.S. based facilities.  Our clients pay a small fraction of the standard prices charged by most U.S. hospitals.  Typically the prices we have negotiated are comparable to the costs associated with off-shore surgery in places such as India, Thailand or Mexico.

Procedure

The role of our firm is to act as a facilitator, brining our clients together with private medical services and clinics which can provide the needed services and / or procedures in a timely manner. Once arrangements have been made to the mutual satisfaction of our client and their physician, we have no ongoing involvement in the doctor-patient relationship.
