Surgery Services for the Uninsured

North American Surgery Inc. is able to access reasonably priced surgical procedures of all types in U.S. based facilities.  Our clients pay a small fraction of the standard prices charged by most U.S. hospitals.  Typically the prices we have negotiated are comparable to the costs associated with off-shore surgery in places such as India, Thailand or Mexico. Here is how we have been able to negotiate deep discounts for our clients:

1. Many hospitals charge inflated prices to healthcare insurance companies, knowing that these companies almost always negotiate lower charges.  By “starting high”, hospitals hope to eventually settle for what the medical procedure actually costs.  North American Surgery Inc is not an insurance company however.  We collect funds from our clients and pay the hospital prior to their surgery.  Since the hospitals don’t need to wait for months for the insurance company to pay, and since the hospitals know that we won’t attempt to discount their bills further, they are happy to extend deeply discounted prices “right out of the gate”.
2. Hospitals consider referrals from North American Surgery Inc, to be incremental business – business they otherwise would not have seen in the regular course of their operations.  The overhead of the hospitals is covered by patients from their normal catchment area.  They don’t need to cover any expenses, other than incremental costs, from our clients.
3. We source out hospitals in smaller cities – facilities which are eager for incremental business.  A hospital in Wyoming, for example, will inevitably give us better pricing than one in San Francisco.
4. Many of the facilities to which we refer are specialized hospitals.  A hospital which restricts itself to cardiac procedures or to orthopaedic procedures will often be able to provide these services at lower rates than full service hospitals.
5. Many of the facilities to which we refer, are owned by the physicians who operate there.  We’ve noticed that there is often significantly less bureaucracy and fewer levels of management in these facilities.
